I think this is a Type 72. If so, does anyone know why they are so rare on AG? Are they just Not Interesting enough for most people? This would be only the second Type 72 in Germany.

    There are a few Type 72's on AG but not super common indeed. This one isn't actually. The Type 72 is based on a standard Rover (122 bhp) engined Elise S2. The one you spotted is a Toyota engined Elise which makes it "just" a black Elise with golden wheels. The Type 72 has also the standard S2 wheels, these are wheels from a 111S/111R.
    Despite the wheels from a 111R, I guess this is an Elise S.

    [@Coen Wouter] Thanks for clarifying. I Put in in Google Picture search and every Picture shown were other AG Posts from the Type 72!

    Funny, when I search for a Type 72 at Google, I don't see many AG posts 😂
